Farming is when you stay in one area and kill the same type of mobs over and over again hoping for a certain kind of item(Rappelz Rupees) drop. This is done mostly in Rappelz to gain pet cards. Farming is just a matter of luck. Some players can enter an area and be there less than an hour and leave with what they wanted.
For most players, however, it takes a long time to get what you are looking for. So do not get discouraged if you are in the same place a week later and still farming.
