Waterloo - Napoleon final defeat on 18 june 1815.
The lion-hill looks out over the now peaceful fields where most of the original strategic locations of the battle are still visible. The actual battlefield lies in the village of Mont-Saint-Jean, about 4 miles south of the town of Waterloo.
