My Home Town - Mechelen - Belgium

Our city is only a 30 minutes drive from the heart of Brussels and Antwerp and only 20 minutes away from the Brussels fairgrounds.
The airport is only 15 minutes away.
We have Holiday Inn Express and Novotel and a number of other hotels in medieval heart of the city.
So, please, please, whenever you come to Belgium try Mechelen and stay overnight.
We have very good restaurants and the medieval buildings are beautifully lighted.
Especially the Grand Place (Grote Markt or Market Place) and the cathedral are juwels in the crown of our city.
I hope you will enjoy Mechelen as i do living here from the very beginning -)
Footnote : Most of the medieval buildings arae from the 16th century, when Mechelen was the capital of the combination of todays Holland and Belgium.
The restaurant on the picture is de delicious 'De Witte Vos' on the market place.
