Grand Teton national Park - Wyoming - United States - part 3

November 14, 2007 - Permalink - No comments

A couple of years ago we had a week off and sheduled a trip to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park.

Part 3 describes some more waks and a couple of pictures from Colter Bay Village Lodge and surroundings.

The lodge is expensive but far from luxurous, and the food in the restaurant is not good at all.

The lodge terrace (view overlooking the vast plain and fantastic Grand Tetons mountain range) and huge open fireplace are great however.

Grand Teton means in fact 'Big Breasts' in Franch.
The name was given by a trapper who was certainly a long time away from his wife.

Common text with part 1 and 2

We did a couple of walks from 2 tot 4 hours and enjoyed the scenery and especially the wildlife.

Beautiful birds, deer, moose, chipmunks, otters, etc etc - wildlife in abundance.

We travelled in the second half of September. During the daytime the temperature was pretty warm, but with an open sky at night everything cooled down under zero centigrade.

Belive me, Grand Teton National Park is one of the finest National Parks in the US.

Hope you agree.
